Connecticut GI Charitable Foundation Grant Program
The physicians, advanced clinical practitioners, and staff at Connecticut GI understand the challenges individuals with chronic gastrointestinal and liver conditions face. We also appreciate the importance of higher education, and hope to assist these students achieve their academic and professional goals. To this end the Connecticut GI Grant Program was created through the Connecticut GI Foundation for Charitable Giving.
The Connecticut GI Grant Program will award four, $5000 scholarships during the 2026-2027 scholastic year. Grants are awarded to students with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), chronic liver disease, or another chronic/significant GI issue who are pursuing post-secondary education.
Applications are reviewed by the Connecticut GI Charitable Foundation Grant committee and will be awarded based on response to the essay prompt, letters of recommendation, academic achievement, and community involvement.
To qualify, applicants must have been diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal illness as documented by a physician, be a resident of Connecticut or be enrolled in a CT post-secondary education program, complete all application materials, submit supporting documentation, and provide 2 letters of recommendation.

The Connecticut GI Charitable Foundation Grant committee is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 scholastic year. The open application period will close at 5pm on Friday June 12th. Completed applications and supporting documentation should be mailed to:
