He asks questions and follows-up immediately if he doesn’t feel he has the clearest understanding of the patient’s health issues. Mistiming of ingestion of prescribed medication(s) before or after meals CAN affect the effectiveness of the medicine(s). Yes. He fully completes the in-office body checks. But his desire to learn the “REAL” root cause of his patient medical “issues”, makes him standout as a genuine “Dr. Gastro Expert” in the gastroenterologist field in Connecticut."

"The staff and Dr. Castillo were both EXTREMELY nice and friendly , I also felt that Dr Castillo was VERY through and listened to everything I was saying no matter how much I talked in circles due to my ADHD. That being said ... the wait time was excessive . I understand the doctor running late but I waited 90 minutes just to get into a room. As someone with ADHD that's not an easy thing to just sit and listen to everyone in the waiting room talk loudly on their phones."

"Dr. Smiley is a wonderful doctor and I always look forward to my visit with him. Goes above and beyond?He's very thorough and explains everything in simple to understand language. Fortunately and unfortunately he told me I no longer have chrons disease so I won't be seeing him any longer. And you're probably thinking really, Chrons disease is curable? Those were my thoughts exactly. I did have surgery 20 years ago to remove the affected area. The inflammation and scar tissue has not come back since then!! So, thank you for all your help over the years and should I have any further issues I will be sure to call your office. Will definitely miss you Dr. Smiley. P.Y."

His instructions were clear. He offered coupons for copay at the pharmacy. So far, I would recommend. Will give an update after the colonoscopy."

"Video doctors appointment, scheduled for 2:30pm started at 3:10pm, was not able to visually see the doctor, but, could hear him ok. Discussed the need to have medical records transferred, medication prescribed that did and didn’t work for bubble gut, gas and bloating. Still waiting on test results for over active bacteria in gut. All in all the video visit went well, very accommodating process."

"I’ve been Dr Nelson’s patient for my annual physical for over 30 years. Dr Nelson stands out as a superb doctor for several reasons. First, he asks me questions and listens carefully. He checks all my vitals as is typical (blood pressure, palpates my abdominal organs, listens to my heart and lungs, etc). We go over my medications and my blood work. On a recent visit he informed me typical blood work does not include vitamins D and B12 levels unless a patient wants to pay 100% out of pocket assessing these as they are not standard. Good to have this option. Dr Nelson explains the importance of these vitamins and lots of other aspects of my health and is in no rush to answer my questions. I highly recommend Dr Nelson."
